Travel: Family Holiday News
From sweet toothed kids to budget-basement breaks, we've come up with some great travel ideas for all the family.
Sweet Treat
Britain’s favourite chocolate bar, Cadbury’s Dairy Milk, is 100 years old in 2005, so why not celebrate a very sweet centenary with a visit to Cadbury World in Birmingham? The tour includes a hands-on demonstration area where you can make your own sweets and sample the delights of liquid chocolate. It’s not quite Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but with Tim Burton’s film due for release in the UK this summer, this will be a very popular trip with the kids.

Late Ski Deals
Unseasonably cold weather this year has boosted the chance of getting a good deal for a family skiing holiday. Great snow cover across most European resorts means that the ski season has been extended until May with lots of last-minute deals. We spotted a deal with www.skifamille.co.uk which had a week in a chalet for under £500 per adult, with 5 days’ free childcare thrown in for children.

If you’ve ever wondered how Posh Spice manages to sashay off a long-haul flight with nothing but a vanity case on her, then perhaps you try using First Luggage. This innovative company sends your luggage to your holiday destination and then transports it home again without you having to lug your bags on and off carousels. It’s pretty expensive – prices start at around £149 for a suitcase, but a pram costs £89 return which might be a price worth paying for some harried parents.
