Nigella Leaves Kids Out Of Will
29 January 2008

Cookery writer nixes children's hope for a windfall

nigella lawsonShe's a wealthy woman in her own right, and through husband Charles Saatchi shares a multi-million pound fortune, but Nigella's Lawson's children won't see a penny of that. If the cookery writer has her own way, her children will be forced to earn their own money.

In an interview with My Weekly, Nigella was asked what she'd like her children Cosima, 13 and Bruno, 11 to learn from her. Her response? 'To know that I am working and that you have to work in order to earn money.

I am determined that my children should have no financial security. It ruins people not having to earn money.' But it seems as though Lawson will have to fight to achieve her wish. Husband Charles, it seems, doesn't agree. 'I argue with my husband Charles, because he believes that you should be able to leave money to your children,' she says. 'I think we'll have to agree to disagree.'
