Michelle Williams concentrates on daughter
Heath Ledger's ex says, 'It just gets worse'
The mother of Heath Ledger's daughter is still reeling from his death earlier this year.
Michelle Williams says she intends to take a year off from acting to focus all her attention on three-year-old Matilda. 'I don't want to work while she's in school,' said Michelle, 28. 'I want her to have a routine. I want the plainest, simplest, most ordinary, habituated routine possible.'
Michelle, 28, and Australian-born Heath Ledger had split up before his death in January, but they had remained close. They had got together during the filming of Brokeback Mountain. The Oscar-nominated actor died from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. Michelle told People.com: 'It's so sad.' Asked how she was bearing up, she said: 'I guess it's always changing. What else can I say? I just wake up each day in a slightly different place – grief is like a moving river. It's a strange thing to say, because I'm at heart an optimistic person, but I would say in some ways it just gets worse. It's just that the more time that passes, the more you miss someone. In some ways it gets worse. That's what I would say.'
