Angelina stops breastfeeding twins

Actress says it's too hard

Angelina Jolie may be viewed as a supermum, but she confesses she has had to give up breastfeeding her twins.

In an interview with GMTV, the Oscar-winning actress said breastfeeding them at the same time was 'very hard'. She said she had read manuals about how to manoeuvre herself and the babies to be able to breastfeed. 'It stopped at three months,' she said. 'It was about as much as I could do.'

Angelina, 33, whose twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline were born in July, described one of the stances she used for breastfeeding. 'There's this football hold,' she said, 'it's a lot harder than it looks in the books. I did that a few times. I would take turns. It just takes a long time.'

Angelina and partner, Brad Pitt, have six children. They have adopted Maddox, Pax Thien and Zahara. Their biological children are Shiloh and the twins. But Angelina has said she hasn't completed her family yet, and it is likely they will adopt more children. She said she became pregnant during the filming of her current movie, The Changeling. 'We decided to start trying in the beginning, and by the end I was,' she said.

But marriage to Brad is not important, she says. 'We jumped into being a family first. And that just seems like the biggest commitment you can possibly make. It doesn't feel like anything's lacking.'
