Teen's Decade Long Chip Diet
8 January 2008

15-year-old eats nothing but fries

chipsYesterday we reported on the frankly astonishing fact that McDonalds is selling more burgers than ever before. Today comes another story guaranteed to drive health chiefs to despair – the story of a teenager who has eaten almost nothing but chips for the past decade.

Faye Campbell, who's interviewed by the Daily Mail, apparently has a medical condition called Gastrooesophageal reflux that makes her throw up if she eats anything but chips. According to Faye's mother: ' Faye just drank milk until she was four or five. We tried giving her everything but she rejected it. For some reason at that age she tried a chip and didn't eat anything else.'

The teenager, who despite what you'd think actually looks pretty healthy and remarkably slim given her chip shop diet, is now undergoing treatment to enlarge her diet range. After working with a child psychologist she can now eat plain burgers, plain noodles and potato waffles.
