22-year-old singer Lily is blooming

Following rumours published in the Sun this week, Pop star Lily Allen has confirmed that she's pregnant. A spokesperson for Allen and her boyfriend Chemical Brothers' Ed Simons said: 'I am pleased to confirm that Lily Allen and her boyfriend, Ed Simons, are expecting their first child.

'However, as the pregnancy is at a very, very early stage, the couple ask that you respect their privacy, as the health of Lily and their child is their paramount concern. As the pregnancy is at such an early stage, the couple will be making no further comment but they are obviously both thrilled by the news.'

Singer Lily has been with Ed since September and has made no secret of her desire to start a family. Last month she told the Sunday Times that while she loved being a pop star, ' It’s a great job, but it doesn’t leave time for what’s important. Like having a family. I’d like to live in the country and have a walled garden, and chickens and pigs.'
