Sixteen-year-old Jamie Lynn says she's expecting

Clearly the turbulent events of her big sister Britney's life hasn't put a dampner on Jamie Lynn Spear's family ambitions, because the 16-year-old teen actress has just announced today that she's pregnant.

According to OK! magazine, Jamie Lynn is expecting a baby by her long-term boyfriend Casey Aldridge. The teenager announced her news to her family at Thanksgiving and told the rest of the story to the celebrity magazine.

It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected,' Jamie Lynn told OK! 'I was in complete and total shock and so was he.' She goes on to reveal that after finding out she was pregnant, she waited two weeks before she told her parents. 'I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone's opinion affect my decision...Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me.'

News that she was going to become a grandmother again came as a shock to Jamie Lynn's mother Lynne who admitted to OK! that it came out of the blue. ' I didn't believe it because Jamie Lynn's always been so conscientious. She's never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby.'

It may not come as a complete surprise that Lynne Spear's planned parenting handbook on how to bring up celebrity children has been put on hold by her publishers as of this week.
