Church Schools' Three Degrees January 17 2007 Are you religious enough to get your kids into a church school?
Philip Williamson, head of a very popular church school, told The Times; 'If you want subjective criteria for oversubscribed schools, this is wonderful. They are not transparent, they are not objective. There is no way of moderating what one person construes as known to, the church, attached to the church or at the heart of the church. It is ludicrously unfair.' How to tell if you're religious enough... Do you have a relative who goes to the church? Do you make an effort to attend the main services of the year? Are you on first-name terms with the Vicar and a member of the church flower committee? |
