Winslet – The Working Mum's Mentor
February 6 2007

Gwyneth seeks out the advice of other working mothers

gwyneth paltrowIf you're an A-list star with two kids, who do you look to for advice on returning to the workplace. Well, if you're Gwyneth Paltrow, the answer is fellow thespians and mothers such as Kate Winslet and Cate Blanchett.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Oscar-winner Paltrow who has two children – Apple aged two and Moses, 10 months, says she's ready to return to work. But she adds, 'I'm not going to work like I did before I had kids. I want to call Kate Winslet and say, ''Can you tell me how to do this?'' Or call Cate Blanchett and ask her to describe [her day] from 7 a.m. on. But it's not going to be back-to-back films.'

'I reached a place in my life where I thought, ''It's okay that I have a passion for something besides my family,".' Gwyneth explains. 'If I do one thing that makes me fulfilled, then I'm a more interesting woman for my children. But it wasn't like I was getting, you know, thousands of offers a week, when I was nine months' pregnant or nursing babies, either. I also think I had projected, ''I'm out of the business. I live in London and I have my kids.'''

Asked whether she has any plans to extend her family, Paltrow answers: 'I don't think I would have more. You never know — but not anytime soon.'
