Parents Responsible For Pickled Pupils May 30 2006 Police slam parents who bought alcohol for school party
A group of around 60 15 and 16-year-olds had been partying in a local park in Dewsbury when officers turned up to put an end to the underage drinking. Up to £400 in alcohol had been supplied for the party - by the children's parents. Chief Inspector Keith Hallas told the Telegraph how he was castigated by the parents for spoiling their children's 'fun'. ' We have now found out that parents had purchased the drink for the children. It is incredible that I have had a mother on the phone complaining that we have wasted their money.'
