Primary School's Heroin Pupil January 30 2006
Girl falls asleep at desk following heroin abuse
Teachers at a primary school in Glasgow called in the police and social workers this week when
one of their pupils was found to be a heroin user. The case of the 11 year old only came to
light when she fell asleep at her desk.
It transpired that the pupil had been taking heroin for two months, having bought it at £10 a
time from a dealer outside a local shopping centre.
Marguerita O'Neill, a community health worker, told The Daily Mail: 'I know there are drugs in
every scheme (estate) but this is horrifying. She was only 11, it terrifies the life out of me.'
