Where Did I Leave My Son?
July 27 2006

Drunk Dad forgets where his 8-yr-old is

beer on barA drunken father, who forgot where he left his eight-year-old son, cost the taxpayer thousands of pounds when he set off a massive manhunt. Miguel Di Palma from Preston reported his young son missing in the early hours of the morning. The problem was that in his inebriated state, he'd forgotten that he'd dropped his son off at a friend's house.

Mr Di Palma was fined £80 for wasting police time after 100 people joined the search for Miguel Jnr, including a police helicopter. The child wasn't found until later that afternoon, by which time over £9000 of public money had been spent trying to locate him.
