Pupil Told To ‘Top Himself’
September 26 2005

School suspends teacher after baiting shy pupil

angry teacher A teacher in Sunderland has been suspended after allegedly telling a pupil to 'top himself'. The remark came to light when the 13-year-old boy told his parents that his teacher had ridiculed him in front of his class for being too shy, saying 'I don't like nobodies. Go and top yourself.'

It's the second incidence of apparently bullying tactics by teachers at Thornhill School in Sunderland. A teacher was accused just eight weeks ago of reducing a child to tears by calling him a 'fatso' in front of his classmates.
