Weekend Woes January 26 2006 Family time is being eroded by working on weekends
'There is no doubt that weekend working eats into time that parents and children can spend together,' said Michael Clark from the Relationships Foundation. 'Long and atypical working hours stunt the amount and range of activities that parents and children can do together or, in fact, that the children are able to do at all.' 'With the Government's desire to put good parenting near the top of its agenda, it is very surprising that they should be considering an extension to Sunday trading which could be so detrimental to family life.'
