How parents spend more than £1500 preparing for birth

pregnant woman A new survey has found that parents spend on average, £1560 on their baby before it's born. The survey by baby milk company SMA, found that 8 out of 10 parents start spending on their unborn child up to three months before the due date. Almost a third of that is on maternity wear, health supplements and books and magazines.

Designer buggies and moving house are two of the most costly items on most parents-to-be shopping lists with the latter costing upwards of £4,000. One in 50 of those surveyed said they had spent more than £5,800.
