IVF Couples Told 'Don't Stress About Stress' August 25 2005 Stress not found to effect chances of IVF sucess
Anxiety about the likelihood of becoming pregnant is a common experience for women undergoing fertility treatment. But a survey in Sweden of 166 women a month before they had IVF, found that their stress levels about the treatment had no effect on whether or not they became pregnant. They have said they hope such women can take comfort in these findings and find they help reduce stress. Previous research into the link between anxiety and IVF outcomes has produced mixed results. Dr. Lisbeth Anderheim who led the research said the fact that it was impossible to establish a link between stress and the chances of conceiving via IVF, was encouraging.
