Tom's Nappy Mission
April 25 2006

Katie does the feeding, he does the mopping up

tom cruise mi III Mere days after celebrating the birth of his first biological child, Tom Cruise has embarked on a worldwide publicity tour for his new movie, Mission Impossible III. But, as the filmstar revealed in a trip to Rome, he's working hard on keeping up his parenting skills.

'We have a whole system worked out,' Cruise told reporters. 'It's the 'B and B'. She does the breast feeding and I do the burping and changing the diapers. It's teamwork. It's fun.'

So wasn't his fiancée Katie Holmes keen on him staying with her and the couple's first child? Apparently not. 'My daughter has just been born and I want to be close to her,' said Tom. 'I thought about not coming to Rome, but Kate said go and have fun.'

Keen to prove his new-man status, Cruise boasted that he was the first to change his daughter's nappy. ' I changed her first. I change diapers all the time.'

As for all the speculation on how Tom and Katie came up with the name Suri for their first-born, Tom explained; 'Friends of ours sent us these books and we thought, oh, it'll be fun to look at it. It was (in) the second book that we looked at. All of a sudden, Suri! We looked at each other and went, 'Suri', and that was it. Took a couple of minutes and that was it. That's how I am, you know. It's either right or it's 'No'. Not a big story. On the floor. Found it. Bam! This is it.'
