Mums and Dads spend £137 per child this Christmas

christmas crackers The average household will spend over £500 on Christmas presents over the festive season. Unsurprisingly, children are the main beneficiaries of our largesse – the usual amount spent by Mums and Dads is £137 per child. That’s a whopping 60% rise over a generation – the survey also found that the over 50s spend an average of £86 per child when their children were young.

The results are the conclusions of a survey into Christmas spending habits of over 2000 adults.
