The wooded area where a body, thought to be that of an 11-year-old boy was found on Sunday, was still being investigated last night by forensic scientists.

The identity of the body is yet to be confirmed, but it is suspected to be that of Rory Blackhall, last seen when his mother dropped him off at school in Livingston, West Lothian, on Thursday.

Local police have said it is too early to tell whether anyone else was involved with the boy's disappearance or if his death was a result of a suicide, murder or an accident. Rory's mother, Michelle, said he was upset by her recent separation from his father and the death of his grandmother, and was unhappy about returning to school where some of his friends claimed he had been bullied.
