Counselling service offers teenagers and parents sessions

If you've reached the end of your tether with your teenager, why not try counselling sessions? That's the advice given today by relationship service Relate, which is launching a new service aimed at teenagers and their parents.

The new service, called Riding The Storm, aims to help families ride out the traumas of the teenage years and come out smiling at the other end. '

Being a parent to teenagers can be a challenging, worrying and sometimes distressing time,' says the organisation which advises parents to try and understand that teenagers are going through a major physical and emotional transformation.

'Contrary to how it may seem at times, your teenagers do want to talk to you,' says a Relate spokesperson. ' But you need to let it be in their time and at their pace.'
