Kids Will See Footie After All June 22 2006 Schoolchildren let down by touts will now get tickets from Fifa
The deal was brokered by talks between the Government and Fifa, while British Airways has said it will fly the children to the chosen match in Germany. ' Richard Sprake, 14, from Portsmouth, told the BBC: 'I'm speechless. I have no words to explain how I feel. When we got to Germany and found we weren't going to the match it was so upsetting but now we've gone from a real low to a real high now we are going to see our team play.' But while English schoolchildren are celebrating, a Scottish child is nursing an injury after being attacked in the street for wearing an England football shirt. Seven-year-old Hugo Clapshaw, whose Dad is from New Zealand and whose mother is Scottish, was playing in a park with his family when a man came over and punched him in the head. 'I just felt this big whack and I started crying,' said the youngster. 'His eyes looked very fierce. He whacked me on the head very, very hard and it's left a big bruise. He told dad I should be supporting Scotland not England.'
