Star hopes her mishap has raised the issue of child safety

Just a few weeks ago, singer Britney Spears was slammed for driving with her infant son dangling on her lap. But with the benefit of hindsight and a bit of spin, the pop star is using the experience to promote child safety. In an interview with People magazine she says, ' I love my baby more than anything, and as unfortunate an experience as this has been for me and my family, if it brings more attention to child safety then I fully support that.'

Spears goes on to lament that just going out with her son Sean Preston has become a nightmare because of paparazzi hounding her. 'I don't really go out with him,' Spears says. 'It's kind of sad because I can't walk down the street with a stroller. I'm not expecting people to pity me. I'm just telling the truth.'
