Batman's Bruised Bottom
December 20 2005
Toddler leaps out of window in superhero stunt

boy in batsuit The parents of a three year old boy who leapt from a first floor window at home, in homage of his hero Batman, are thanking their lucky stars that he escaped with nothing more than a bruised bottom. Three-year-old Byron Trimmer apparently believed he could fly like Batman when he fell 15 feet from his home in Essex on to wooden decking.

'It is the best Christmas present I could have hoped for,' Byron's mother Tammy told The Telegraph. 'All sorts of things ran through my mind when it happened. After he was checked out at hospital, he kept saying he could fly and telling everybody he was Batman. He's a bit of a tough cookie and it's not the first time he's been injured playing superheroes. He once jumped off the top of a bunk bed and hurt his leg trying to be Batman.'

Explaining how the accident happened, she said; 'Byron was with me and his little brother Aidan was downstairs on the sofa. I went down to check on him and heard this sickening thud. I ran upstairs and couldn't see Byron anywhere and then I looked out of the window and saw him sitting on the decking below crying his eyes out. I really feared for the worst. But at the hospital they examined him and X-rayed him from head to toe and the only thing they could find wrong was a bruise on his bottom!'
