Blair's Pizza Rhyme
September 20 2005

21st century nursery rhyme satirises the PM

tony blair Tony Blair may have found lasting fame, in the form of a nursery rhyme that satirises his actions in Iraq. A competition by children's TV channel Nickleodeon to find new nursery rhymes for the 21st century was won by the rhyme Baker Tony's Pizza.

Winning writer Angela Martin, 57, said that her inspiration 'came from my desire to educate our children on the politics of the Iraq war in a light-hearted fashion.'

Baker Tony's Pizza

Baker Tony baked a pizza very round and thin,

He said he added olives but he never put them in,

The stuff that he had grated and sprinkled on to please,

Was only yellow sawdust although he called it cheese,

The rich tomato topping was nothing more than dye,

So Baker Tony's pizza Made all the children cry
