School's Suncream Ban July 19 2006 Allergy fears put suncream on the banned list
The mother of a seven year old girl at the school told reporters: 'I feel very frustrated that I am not allowed to protect my daughter. There is a history of skin cancer in my family and I am worried it might affect Sophie unless she is thoroughly protected from the sun.' Meanwhile, pupils at a Yorkshire school have been given the afternoons off this week in the run up to the school holidays – because of the heatwave. Teachers at the Scarcroft Primary School in York said that temperatures at the school had become uncomfortably high and as a result children would be sent home at lunchtime this week.
