Schools' World Cup Scam June 19 2006
Disappointed pupils miss out on footie tickets
Hundreds of children from schools across the UK have had their hopes of watching the World
Cup live in Germany dashed. 381 children travelled to Germany this weekend to watch
Portugal playing Iran on Saturday. But, when they arrived, they found they'd been the victims
of a scam and that they didn't have tickets to watch the match.
The tickets, which were part of a £410 tour which also included a schools football
tournament, turned out to be fake and the children were turned away from the match.
Parents told the BBC website that their children were 'devastated'.
