How To Be A Successful Dad June 19 2006 David Cameron thinks he has the answer
In a feature for Father's Day in yesterday's Sunday Times, Cameron urges all fathers to be present at the birth of their children, calling it a 'magic moment' that was critical to both parents making a go of parenthood. Dismissing his politicial ambitions as secondary to parenthood, Cameron goes on to say, 'My children couldn’t care less whether I become prime minister or not. On Fathers’ Day we should remember the simple truth that a successful dad spends time with his children.' Unfortunately for Mr Cameron, his voting record doesn't really match his public face as Mr Family Man. The employment minister, Jim Fitzpatrick, was at pains to point out that David Cameron voted against Labour policies such as expended maternity leave, paid paternity leave and the right to request flexible working.
