If I Were A Rich Kid
December 18 2006

Celebrity, good looks and fame is what kids really want

girl smiling It may be the season of goodwill to all, but for kids the most important things in the world aren't things like peace and love – but all the trappings of celebrity. 1500 children under the age of 10 were surveyed to launch this year's National Kids Day and the results make for depressing reading. When asked what their favourite thing in the world was, celebrity, good looks and money took the top three positions.

Despite coming at the bottom of the best things in the world poll, God rallied slightly in the 'most famous person in the world' question where he beat George Bush into second place.

Asked what rules they would bring in if they ruled the world, most kids chose to ban knives and guns. They would also ban fighting and killing, telling lies, bullying and smoking.

More than one in five of the children surveyed said that they didn't want to get married.
