Son No 2 For The Browns July 18 2006 Chancellor Gordon Brown misses G8 for son's delivery
It's good news for the Browns who suffered the loss of their first child, Jennifer, who died aged just 10 days. ' The whole family is thrilled,' said his brother John. 'The main thing is the baby arrived safely, given what they have been through over the years.' One of the first to arrive at hospital in Edinburgh was the couple's good friend JK Rowling, who arrived just hours after the birth to offer her congratulations. 'I feel the sun is shining very brightly on our family today,' said the Chancellor. 'James is very strong and very healthy. I think he's going to be a pretty good footballer. He's got John's blue eyes. And John is incredibly happy. He's looking for someone to play football with, I think.'
