There's a mini Spice Girl in town

Pop star Geri Halliwell has given birth to a little girl. The former Spice girl had her baby on Sunday 14 May at the Portland Hospital in London where she was attended by obstetrician Malcolm Gillard who also looked after Geri's former bandmate Victoria Beckham.

A spokesperson for the singer told reporters that 'the birth went well. Mother and daughter are doing fine'. Early reports are suggesting that the little girl will be called Stella.

Halliwell, who is no longer with the father of her child, screenwriter Sacha Gervasi, had her mother by her side when she gave birth. In a statement, Sacha, who met Geri through their mutual friend Robbie Williams, said; 'I fully intend to give Geri and the baby all the love and support they need.'
