Police investigate as family step up security

Glamour model Jordan and her husband Peter Andre have been forced to step up security after their children were targeted by kidnappers. Scotland Yard confirmed a story by the News of the World that police were investigating a kidnap threat to the couple's children.

'Our specialist kidnap unit is investigating intelligence about a threat to kidnap and extra security has been put in place to help protect the family,' said a police spokesperson.

Peter and Jordan are the latest British couple to face a kidnap threat. Back in 2002 newspapers foiled another alleged plot to kidnap Victoria Beckham and her family. And just last year, the Prime Minister's son Leo was the target of a plan by Fathers4Justice militants.
