Pupils Sent Off For Footie Hair June 14 2006
Patriotic haircuts given red card by headteachers
Two football mad pupils at either end of the country have been sent home for falling foul of
school hairdo policies. Martyn Woodward from York was given the red card by his headteacher
when he turned up for exams boasting a haircut in the shape of the St George's Cross. Head
teacher Chris Bridge said Martyn would have to sit out the exams in a separate room from his
classmates because of his 'extreme' haircut.
Down in the West Country another World Cup devotee, Lewis Whitehead, was sent off school
premises when he came to school with his head shaved into hexagons like a football.
