Spare a thought this Christmas for Nikki Harris, who has just given birth to twin boys. Unfortunately her husband, endurance rower Phil Harris, wasn't able to get to the hospital on time. He did, however, have a good excuse - he was stuck in a rowing boat halfway across the Atlantic!

Phil was given the good news in a satellite phone call from his mother-in-law. He also used his satellite link to call up Interflora and order a nice bunch of blooms for his wife!

Phil, who is taking part in the Row4life race as a way of raising money for Tommy's charity, said; 'It's terrific news. I don't know who is getting less sleep, me or Nikki! I had already committed to the race when we found out that Nikki was pregnant and we decided collectively that this was a powerful way to raise awareness for all the good work done by Tommy's, the baby charity.'
