Are We Bored Yet? February 13 2006 Keeping kids happy in the car costs us £58 million!
A survey, carried out on Raisingkids.co.uk by ebay Motors, found that British parents will spend a whopping £58 million on things to keep the kids quiet and occupied in the car over half term - that works out at around £19 a family. The survey, of 3,000 parents, also found that children will last an average of 19 minutes in the back seat before asking the question, 'Are we there yet?' The good news is that with all this aggravation, good old-fashioned fun is still the key to making car journeys fun for all the family. I-Spy remains the most popular car game for families, with twice as many parents choosing the old family classic over MP3 players and games consoles.
