Zeta-Jones Slams Celeb Mums
November 10 2005
Post-pregnancy pressure 'insane' says Catherine

catherine zeta jones in the legend of zorro Has the tide turned for celebrity mums? First it was actress Sarah Jessica Parker who slammed the trend of celebrity mothers losing weight rapidly after birth, now Catherine Zeta Jones has come out against the trend.

Talking at the launch of her new film, The Legend of Zorro, Swansea's finest told reporters that she finds the pressure on celebrity mums to diet themselves skinny after giving birth 'insane'. Zeta-Jones, who has herself slimmed down to a fine shape having given birth to two children, said she had her dancing background to thank for that. 'My muscles have memory from the time I danced and it's quick for me to get back into shape, but I'm not fanatical.'

'I grew up with dancers - anorexia and other eating disorders were common - so I learned how to deal with diets without losing my limit. I think it's awful, this competition between actresses who just had a baby to see who's first to get back to their normal weight. I find this wave of super-skinny women scary.'
