Hurley's Kids Range 'Inappropriate' December 7 2006 Experts say leopardskin swimsuits aren't suitable for kids
''Oh dear, dear me. This is dreadful,' said MP Anne Widdecombe. 'It represents the sexualisation of children which is very dangerous indeed as well as being very undesirable.' Widdecombe's views were echoed, in part by Elaine Peace, children's services director at the charity NCH, who told the Daily Mail that leopardskin prints were 'perhaps inappropriate because it is seen as an adult connotation especially in terms of it being seen as sexy wear.' But Ms Peace did add that, 'animal prints are very trendy at the moment and children have been wearing bikinis on beaches for a long time - so it's important that we don't take the fun out of childhood by being too over the top about what they're wearing.'
