More than one in three children interviewed in a UK survey had no idea what chips were made of. 1,000 children were surveyed b the British Heart Foundation about what's on their plate and where it comes from and the results were truly startling.

One in 10 kids thought that chips were made mainly of oil (well, they're probably not far wrong there!), but some, astoundingly, thought they were made from apples!!

The survey was carried out as part of the launches of a major new campaign, Food4Thought, to get children - in particular 11 and 12 year olds - thinking about what is in their food and how they can make heart healthier choices.

BHF Director General, Peter Hollins, said: "It sends a shiver down my spine to discover that so many children don't even know what chips are made of. Kids have lost touch with even the most basic foods and no longer understand what they are eating.
