Nine-year-old falls 30ft and survives

The family of a nine-year-old who fell out of a loft window whilst sleepwalking are counting their blessings that they hadn't cleared up the mess of their loft conversion. Jasmine Clark, was sleeping in her new loft bedroom for the first time when she sleptwalked out of the window. Happily, she landed on a pile of carpets left 30ft below.

Jasmine's father Dave explained that he'd ripped out the carpets when he was decorating Jasmine's room. He hadn't got around to taking them to the skip when Jasmine fell out of the window. The nine-year-old suffered just cuts and bruises from her night-time fall.

'It's a miracle she wasn't seriously injured or even killed,' Jasmine's father told The Sun. 'If the carpets hadn't been there I dread to think what her injuries might have been like.
