Mum Faces Up To Cornish Gator October 6 2005 Trip to feed the ducks ends with close encounter
Mum Stacey Clayton, 20, had taken her baby daughter down to see the ducks being fed when she noticed what appeared to be a log floating in the pond. Or at least that's what she thought, until the 'log' blinked at her! Terrified, she threw a stone at the crocodile and rushed home with her daughter to call the RSPCA. A local spokesperson said that they believe what Stacey saw was a caiman - a relative of the alligator - and warned villagers to be on the lookout.
