Diamond earrings worth £25,000 for 6 year old Brooklyn Beckham

jewelled broach If you had a shock yesterday to find that raising a child from birth to five years costs £52,000, consider that for the Beckhams, that’s just what you spend on a birthday.

When six year old Brooklyn opens his presents on his birthday, he’ll find a £25,000 pair of diamond earrings, a scaled down copy of a pair made by designer Jacob the Jeweller for dad, David. Add to that, a Jacob's of New York watch (a replica of Daddy's) worth £6,000 and a baby Porsche (like Daddy's) worth £5,000 and the birthday bash at their Madrid villa, reported to be costing about £10,000 and that amounts to five years spend in a day!!.

Meanwhile in Hertfordshire, David and Victoria Beckham have applied for permission to build a Wendy house for their sons. Supposedly, big enough for a family of four it will cost £100,000 to build. Oh! and by the way, (or do I mean buy the way?), the couple are currently in dispute over a £120,000 play castle erected in their garden without permission.
