Members' Tips: Eating Their Greens
Are you constantly trying to persuade your child to meet that Five A Day target? Are mealtimes a battle zone? Perhaps some of our members tips will be of help...
Veggie Might
'You can get breaded veggie fingers, try those, it was the only way I could get my son to eat veg for about a year.'

'My son's two and when serving him vegetables I make a game of it, put on silly voices and tell him, for instance, that broccoli is 'little trees', another good one for sweetcorn is 'yellow peas' - seems to work so far & we both don't get stressed about his eating anymore - anything that works is worth a try.'

'My Sprog wasn't overly keen on veg, until we read the Charlie and Lola book "I Will Not Ever Never Eat A Tomato". Since that time, the Sprog has eaten tomatoes (or moonsquirters, as Lola calls them) like they're going out of fashion!'

Juicy Fruits
'We decided to introduce smoothies and fruit juices made at home from scratch. They
can't get enough of them and I know that the ingredients are healthy with no
added rubbish in it. When my son says he doesn't want dinner I make him one and
know that he has still had something good in him'

Guessing Game
'We play a game at home with fruit. I ask them to put a piece of fruit in their mouth from a plate of chopped fruit, I close my eyes and then have to guess what they has eaten. Neither of mine can refuse a challenge though which helps with this.'
