Members' Tips: A good night's sleep

baby and parentThere's never a miracle cure that works for everybody - and if there was, we'd be millionaires by now - but our members have come up with some top tips for getting a good night's sleep. Why not try them and see if they work for you?

Teacher knows best
'My 9 yr-old daughter stays up late and I got so frustrated I spoke to her teacher to see if she could have a word. The teacher actually announced to the whole class that they should know the benefits of a good night's sleep and come 9-9.30pm tellys should go off and if still not sleepy a good book is preferred! Worked like a charm! '

Sleepy scents
'You should try using lavender oil on her pillow. It is very relaxing and I used to use it when I was pregnant and I could not sleep.'

'A lady told me lavender oil can induce nightmares in small children. I don't know if anyone else has heard of that. Instead she sold me sleepy head room mister, which you spray into the room and on bed-linen. It is especially devised for children and includes lavender oil along with some others, which I cannot remember. Anyway, it has worked a treat.'
