Members' Tips: When the clocks change

child and parentWhen the clocks go forward and back, your child's sleeping patterns can go haywire! How can you keep this under control so disruption is minimal?

Adjusting the timetable
'What I used to do was to get mine to nap earlier on in the day, say 2pm. Lie her down on the couch maybe with a blanket over her and put a video on she likes and maybe it will help her fall asleep.'

Slowly but surely...
'I remember when my eldest was a lot younger and the changing of the clocks really threw my routine. I found that rather than change the routine the full hour straight away. I would change it by 10mins over the course of 5 days. Every night I would just put the routine forward or back by 10mins until we caught up.'
