There's been a bumper crop of celebrity babies born this year with everyone from Angelina to Katie Holmes coming up with the goods. But what did the celebrities end up naming their children in 2006? And did the public approve?
Certainly the days when celebrities could be relied upon to appoint their children with outlandish names seems to be long gone.
Wary, perhaps, of our reaction to previous clangers like Apple and Fifi Trixibelle, the A-listers appear to have reigned in their creativity this year. With the rare exceptions of P Diddy, whose twin daughters rejoice in the names of D'Lila Star and Jessie James, Woody Harrelson whose daughter found herself landed with Makani Ravello, and Britain's own Kirstie Allsopp who named her boy Bay Atlas, the A-listers have returned to more traditional monikers for their offspring.
If there was any trend at all, this year was a bumper one for Biblical inspiration. Gwyneth and Chris named their son Moses, Brangelina liked the Hebrew Shiloh and Liverpool's Robbie Fowler went for Jacob for his son. Even Geri Halliwell got in on the game calling her daughter Bluebell Madonna.
The only controversy - if you could call it that - was over Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes's choice of Suri for their daughter. They said it was the Hebrew world for Princess. The Japanese said it meant 'pickpocket'. Sometimes you just can't win!
