How do I join in the discussions on Talk!

Do I have to use my own name in Talk!
No. Your privacy and online safety is very important to us, as we explain in our privacy policy. When you join Raisingkids.co.uk, you need to choose a username and password.

What's a 'username'?
It's the name other raisingkids.co.uk members know you by - it's the name you use on site. You need your username to make posts in Talk!, Ask an Expert or to enter a competition.

You can choose any username you like, as long as nobody else has picked that name already! Usernames have to be between 5 and 25 characters in length and you can use letters, numbers and underscores ( _ ) in your username. We suggest that you avoid your own name or make yourself easily identifiable through your username- you never know when you might want to ask for advice on a sensitive subject!

Password hints
Choose a password that's easy for you to remember but hard for others to guess! Passwords must be between 5 and 25 characters in length and you can use letters, numbers and underscores ( _ ).

You need to enter your password to make sure that nobody else can sign in to raisingkids.co.uk with your username - if you have a shared computer at home or at work, we recommend you choose a new password from time to time. Click here to change your password.

Who - and what - are the moderators?
Our moderators are here to help with queries, point people to relevant features on the site where they exist and make sure that the forums are generally an inclusive, helpful place to post on. They are chosen purely and simply on the basis of number of posts coupled with how recently they've posted. We are not currently looking to appoint any more moderators on the site.

Moderators can edit, move or delete posts, close forums and help with any technical questions not answered in Help, FAQs & Notices. Anyone can post a message to the moderators, whether you're a member or not - simply click here. If you want to delete a post which you have made, please email Raisingkids.co.uk.

What about cookies?
Cookies can save you a lot of time and hassle. We advise against deleting your Raisingkids.co.uk cookie, as this may mean it takes you longer to access certain parts of the site.
