6 Of The Best: Easter Bonnet Ideas

child wearing an easter bonnet Some kids (and parents) love the challenge: for others the annual Easter bonnet making has become something of a torment. Whichever camp you fall into, here are some quick and easy tips for bonny bonnet-making. Blue Peter eat your heart out!

Cheap Chick
Buy a cheap summer bonnet (you can find them on ebay for about £1) and sew chicks around the brim. Add a couple of fabric flowers et voila!

Straw Poll
Take a shallow, square box. Cut slits in each side and pass a ribbon through them - you'll use that to attach the box to your child's head. Get your child to fill the box with straw and then glue some chocolate eggs into position.

Bonzer Idea
Take a plastic flower pot, turn it upside down and put some holes for string to keep the hat on. Hang eggs off the bottom like an Australian cork hat.

Rosie Posie
Get a paper plate, and decorate it with tissue roses. Sprinkle liberally with glitter and add little chicks or mini eggs as required. Tie under chin with a length of ribbon.

Eggstactly Right
Cut the top part of an egg carton and fill each hole with coloured tissue. Stick a mini egg in each of the holes. Secure to child's head with ribbon or string!

Top Hat
Print loads of easter pictures off the internet and get your child to colour them in. Buy a paper hat, ideally something like a top hat, and stick the pictures collage-style all over the hat until completely covered.
