Win: A Year's supply of Poteez and Ease the Stress of Potty Training on the Go

Poteez rangeCompetition starts: 10 September 2008
Closing date: 6 October 2008

We're giving away a year's supply of Poteez disposable pottys - that's ten prizes of four packs of Poteez.

Ease the Stress of Potty Training on the Go with Poteez.

Potty training can be a stressful time for both parents and toddlers, especially when you are out and about and your child really needs to go.

Car journeys can be especially difficult with parents often tempted to put their child back into nappies or training pants to avoid accidents. Now research carried out by Poteez - the portable, disposable potty brand has found that this is one of the main reasons that potty training is taking longer than in previous generations.

Poteez pottyWith disposable nappies now accounting for 4% of all household waste and taking up to 100 years to degrade, there is added pressure on parents to get their children out of nappies as soon as possible.

But according to the Poteez research (carried out online by Your Say Pays with just over 1,000 parents) this isnt happening. 95% of parents questioned claim to start toilet training their children before the age of two and a half but almost half say that it takes between four months and a year to complete the process, with 21% taking more than a year.

They blame busy lifestyles, more mobile family lives and high quality nappies for not rushing the process. Almost half of those who admitted to making mistakes during the training period said they were inconsistent in their approach and regretted putting their children back into nappies or pull ups for journeys.

Poteez pottysChildcare expert and author Elizabeth Pantley has joined forces with Poteez to offer parents potty training advice. She said: There are three key elements to potty training knowing when the child is ready to begin, being consistent with the approach, and being pleasantly supportive of the childs efforts.

It is vitally important that once the training has started there are no mixed or confused messages given to the child. Starting and stopping training prolongs the process.

New Poteez is a flat-packed, cardboard disposable potty that assembles quickly and simply into a strong, secure and comfortable potty and it is completely bio-degradable.

Poteez are available in packs of five, priced at 6.99, via www.poteez.com
