The Lanesborough Hotel in London is organizing Saturday etiquette lessons for children aged between eight and 13.

The hotel's head butler, Sean Davoren, will take the children through the minefield of a fully-set table, teaching them which knife and fork to use, how to behave at the table, and even, that ladylike classic, how to eat peas.

Dinner is served
The two-hour course includes a full tea of cakes and sandwiches, supervised by Sean, so that the children can put their new found table manners into practice.

'I firmly believe that good manners will never go out of fashion and are as important today as they have ever been,' says Sean. 'However the emphasis will be on fun and the courses are not designed as punishment!'
