Drugs advisor Melissa Baxter has worked with young people in Youth Centres since 1993.

She worked for Cambridge City and County Council on various Youth Projects and became a youth development Officer in 1999. Melissa also worked in an Advice and Information Centre as their resident drug advisor.

She was employed by the Wirral Drugs Service (the biggest drug service in Europe) where she worked mainly with harder drugs, and also worked as a detached Youth Worker in Anfield for ‘The Door’, working with young people in a severely socially deprived area.

She is currently working as a drugs advisor within police stations, assessing people’s needs and providing on-the-spot information around health, housing and harm minimisation issues.
