Dental Expert: Missing Front Teeth

boy showing missing front teethWhen should you intervene with growing teeth and when should you leave well alone? Raisingkids.co.uk's Dental Expert, Amanda O'Donnell offers advice.

Raisingkids member's problem
My 8-yr-old son has lost his two front teeth which are now growing but he has an extra tooth above one of them and it looks like it's pushing one of the new ones back a bit. Does he need to have this tooth pulled or will it come out on its own?

Dental expert's advice
It sounds like this tooth may need to be removed. My advice would be to take your son to the dentist as soon as possible.
